Rouge Music Proudly Presents...
Some supremely funky 70's disco from session legends F.Macdonald and C.Rae, who played bass and guitar for The Biddu Orchestra and were part of the backing band on Carl Douglas' epic 1974 single 'Kung Fu Fighting'.
You might recognise this tune from the Quota Quickie cult classic "Telly Savalas Looks at Birmingham"...
In the late 1970s, several of the UK's major cities were the stars of the so-called 'Quota Quickies', B-movies directed by Harold Baim who seemed to have had an obsession with multi-storey car parks, concrete shopping centres and motorways. They were shown in cinemas before the main feature, because of a law at the time which meant that cinemas had to show a British film for every American film.
All of the films have American actor Telly Savalas extolling the virtues of cities like Aberdeen, Birmingham and Portsmouth through narration which is unintentionally funny and wonderfully kitsch.
